ALEXANDER WANG is leaving Balenciaga as creative director. Following weeks of rumors, WWD reported Wednesday that Wang's contract at the Kering-owned label will not be renewed, and that a search for his successor has already begun. According to the trade, the American designer's spring 2016 show — which will walk this fall during Paris Fashion Week — will be his last. Wang took the creative lead at Balenciaga in December 2012, replacing Nicolas Ghesquière when he decamped to Louis Vuitton. In his time at the label, Wang redesigned Balenciaga's retail stores, introduced a hit new handbag ("Le Dix"), and has released memorable ad campaigns starring the likes of Gisele, Kate Moss and Daria Werbowy. However, his seasonal collections were met with mixed reviews.
