House of Vans took over the Bain Mathieu in Montreal for a pre-Osheaga music festival event celebrating music and skate culture. Bain Mathieu is an old bathhouse turned venue, so the dancefloor was essentially an amazing, giant empty pool for the audience to enjoy acts like Joey Bada$$ and iLoveMakonnen.
In between the party, Vans exhibited stunning photographs by Dan Mathieu showing "20 Years of Montreal Skateboarding." In addition to being an incredible photographer, Mathieu is the founder of skate publication, Exposé Magazine, which is one of only two skate magazines still running in Canada right now. So it goes without saying that he's committed to the culture, and his photos above are evidence of his talent for capturing the essence of the often overlooked Montreal skate scene.
